How can we help?
Straight answers about what Wiskr does and how to get the most out of it.
Getting started
How do I edit my first video?
Sign in, drop an MP4, MOV, MKV or WebM onto the upload box, pick a preset (or leave the default), and click Render Cut. You'll get a progress bar and an email when it's done. The result page shows every cut the editor made, and you can download the MP4 or export a CapCut project.
What does Wiskr actually cut?
Every render tightens pauses longer than your threshold, placing each cut inside the pause's own quiet core on exact frames so no word is clipped. With Smart Edit on, it also transcribes the footage and removes false starts, retakes (the last clean take stays), filler bursts and asides to the editor, each with a written reason.
What is the review step?
After a render, the result page lists every decision: asides removed, content removed, spans the editor wasn't sure about, and the silences it tightened. Flip any of them between kept and cut and click Re-render. Re-rendering from the review step is free; it never spends a second render.
What is Smart Edit, and why is it marked beta?
Smart Edit is the transcript-based editorial pass: Whisper transcribes your recording and Claude decides what to remove, in 5-minute chunks. It's beta because it hasn't been used on enough strangers' footage yet. Nothing ambiguous is ever cut silently; it's left in and listed under 'Needs your call'. Smart Edit is available on Creator and above.
Settings
What do the two sliders do?
'Tighten pauses over' is the shortest pause that gets cut (0.4 s to 2 s; 0.8 s is the house default calibrated on real talking-head edits). 'Quiet sensitivity' decides how quiet a stretch has to be to count as a pause, measured relative to your own speaking level, so a quiet recording and a loud one are treated the same.
Can I describe the edit in plain English?
Yes. Type something like 'tight, remove my mistakes' into the instruction box and it's turned into the right settings, which you can still adjust before rendering.
Can I save a preset?
Yes. Set the sliders how you like, type a name under 'Save as preset' and click Save. It appears in your preset list for every future video.
Exporting
How do I download the MP4?
Click Download MP4 on the result page, or Download next to any finished render under Recent renders. The file downloads straight from storage with your browser's normal progress bar.
How do I keep editing in CapCut?
Click Export to CapCut Project. You get a zip containing a CapCut project with your cuts on the timeline and the original media bundled, so you can drag any cut point, add music or graphics, and export from CapCut. Open CapCut desktop and import the project folder.
What is the cut report?
A Markdown file listing every cut: time range, type, whether it was kept or cut, the words removed and the reason. Download it from the review panel. It's the same report a human editor would hand over.
Why is there a watermark on my export?
The free Hobby plan adds a small Wiskr watermark to rendered MP4s. Creator and above render without it. CapCut project exports are never watermarked.
Is Premiere Pro export available?
Not yet. Today you can download the MP4 or export a CapCut project. If you need a Premiere project, email us and we'll tell you when it ships.
Plans and billing
What counts as a render?
One render is one full edit of an uploaded video. Uploading is free, re-rendering from the review step is free, and deleting a render never gives a unit back. If a render fails because of a problem on our side, the unit is returned automatically.
What are the limits on each plan?
Hobby: 5 renders a month, clips up to 5 minutes, 2 GB uploads, watermark. Creator: 50 renders, 30-minute clips, 5 GB uploads, Smart Edit, no watermark. Producer: unlimited renders, 2-hour clips, 10 GB uploads. Network: unlimited renders, 4-hour clips, 20 GB uploads. Monthly limits reset on the 1st (UTC).
How do I upgrade, change or cancel?
Pick a plan on the Pricing page to upgrade. To switch or cancel, open Account and click Manage billing; that opens the Stripe billing portal where you can change the plan, update your card or cancel. Cancelling keeps your plan until the end of the period you paid for.
Can I get a refund?
If something on our side broke your render, the render unit is refunded automatically. For anything else, email noah@1cutmedia.com within 7 days of being charged and we'll sort it out.
Troubleshooting
A cut landed in the middle of a word.
Open the review panel, find the cut, flip it to kept, and re-render. Then email us the render id (shown on the error and processing screens); a mid-word cut is a bug we want to see.
My upload failed or is stuck.
Check the file is under your plan's size and length limit and is MP4, MOV, MKV or WebM. Uploads over 2 GB on Hobby are rejected. If it still fails, refresh the page: your render, if it started, is listed under Recent renders.
The render is taking a long time.
Renders queue two at a time and a long clip can take several minutes per 10 minutes of footage. It's safe to close the tab: you'll get an email when it's done, and it stays under Recent renders.
Audio is out of sync after export.
This usually means a variable-frame-rate source (phone and screen recordings). Re-export the original at a constant frame rate and upload that. If it persists, email us the render id.
A re-render failed.
Your previous render is kept and stays downloadable. The result page shows the reason in an amber banner. Flip the change back, or email us with the render id.
Privacy and data
Who sees my footage?
Your uploads and renders are stored in private object storage under your account. Transcripts are sent to OpenAI (Whisper) and, for Smart Edit, to Anthropic (Claude) only when you run those features. Nobody else sees your footage.
How do I delete my data?
Delete any render from Recent renders to remove its files. To delete everything, open Account and click Delete account: it removes your renders, your files and your login.
